Andrea Naef

Chief Executive

Born and raised in Switzerland I have been fascinated by human beings and their behaviour from an early age, and I decided to make this my career. In 1998 I graduated from Zurich University with a Master of Science in Psychology (biomathematical psychology) with supporting subjects in IT (Artificial Intelligence) and Neuropsychology.

In 1998 I graduated from Zurich University with a Master of Science in Psychology (biomathematical psychology) with supporting subjects in IT (Artificial Intelligence) and Neuropsychology.

1998 – 2001

After graduating I then joined Swissair and worked as a psychologist in their Training Centre’s Human Factors department which was responsible for the nontechnical training of 1500 pilots. We also were heavily involved in the rollout of a fully integrated human factors training programme in healthcare.

In 2000 I was appointed deputy general manager human factors training and became a certified trainer for the “Process Communication Model®” (PCM) in the same year.

Probably my biggest success with Swissair was the design and implementation of a ‘fear of flying’ programme, which I developed in cooperation with Lufthansa.

Following the collapse of Swissair in 2001, my husband Werner and I founded our own company and specialised in consulting and training in aviation, rail and medicine in Switzerland and Germany.

To support our service portfolio, we developed a unique team training computer simulation called ‘GemaSim’ (www.gemasim.com). In a simulated spaceflight, teams of four complete missions under pressure and workload. Teams need to communicate and cooperate efficiently to achieve good results in this serious gaming tool.

After almost two decades GemaSim is still one of a kind, has licensees in Switzerland and the UK, and is utilised by clients such as Swiss Air Force, NATO or Swiss Railway for their team development training.

2003 – 2007

In 2003 we emigrated to New Zealand and started our own business two years later. Our services included leadership training, auditing, team development, stress and self-management.

2007 – Present

In 2007 we became certified Master Trainers for PCM and acquired the exclusive rights for this method in Australia and New Zealand (www.pcmoceania.com).

PCM in our territory is organised as a licensing organisation. We train and certify a number of highly qualified trainers, coaches and consultants that fit our business model. Together with our Licensees we have successfully anchored PCM in various industries as an effective intra- and interpersonal skills programme. It is also starting to gain traction as a recruitment and placement tool.

The number of licensees is continuously growing in both countries.

My role within KCO is to run the business and lead it into the future. I’m also responsible for Research and Development, which is one of my real passions. I’m constantly on the lookout for new ways deliver PCM, or what new products can enhance our service delivery both to licensees and clients.

As PCM Master Trainers, my husband and I recruit, train and certify new PCM Providers.
